Boogey Woogey

Morgan is really into dancing. Anytime she hears a song or music from even an opening to a show to breaks it down

Artsy Attempts

I have found a new interest in pinterest.com. There are a ton of great craft ideas for any time and holiday or seasonal time, as well as good-looking recipes (which I intend on trying this month). So I have been adding some of these crafts into our house... and am really looking forward to doing more!

This one needs a little work. I might need to outline the letters in black to make them standout. And I think the curtain rod would look better spray painted.

And here it is above Morgan's bed

This project was super easy. I collected some dead leaves from the front yard and taped them to white paper and put in the frames which previously held our engagement pictures.

Our little reader

Morgan's newest thing is reading. She will sit in the corner with all her books surrounding her just "reading" to herself. It is so fun to listen to as she points to the pictures and babbles. We think we will have an avid reader on our hands in a few years :)

She brought this book to David and after he read it to her, she read it to him! She often brings us a book and if we don't start reading it to her she gets upset, picks it up and shoves it at us - she knows what she wants!

We Are

And the Holladay life is acruisin' on...

Recently things came together for me to graduate this December! Since I've put that together I am more anxious than ever to be done. This new-found glory came to be because I began my internship at Curves for Women Fitness Center. It has been a lot of fun and I am really learning more than I expected. So now I am taking 7 credits but they are my last! In other news I am now delivering flyers each week for a carpet cleaning company. It doesn't require much work and brings in a little extra money. Not to mention I get a workout doing it - I estimate I walked/ran a total of 11 miles between Mon and Tues - uphill, downhill, stairs... needless to say my legs are sore.

David seems to be climbing the ladder at work. He is now the Director/Technical Director for the International Broadcast for the BYU Football games. He is also the Technical Director for the Insights and True Blue shows on BYUTV (feel free to check them out!) School is very time consuming for him with all the heavy reading demands.

Morgan is growing up so fast. She is walking now, pretty much never crawling. It is so fun to watch her learn new things. She dances now and does all the clapping and waving and what-nots. We think she is going to be an avid reader because she LOVES her books and will just sit there in the "reading corner" and gaze at the pages of her books - it's adorable :) Since her second tooth has come in she is going down for naps and bedtime beautifully - and we are very grateful. She is now in the 20th percentile for her weight but still wearing mostly 0-3 months clothes.

We are doing well and excited for the coming months :)

the victor's cup

I stumbed on this when reading a friend's blog and it reminded me of when I had the exact poem hanging in my room as a teenager. I feel like I needed it so much today. For some reason of which I know not, and despite all the good things in my life right now, tonight I found myself lying on the kitchen floor sobbing - all the meanwhile Morgan crawled on top of me with a big smile. So after I calmed down, I stood up, gave Morgan a hug, proceeded to feed her dinner while doing the dishes. Times get rough, even if it's a nonsense emotion with no origin, but you can't quit.

Must Not Quit
by Julia Jane Sutton

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
